COMPANIES ATTENDING BANFF 2021 INCLUDE

The Banff World Media Festival respectfully acknowledges that our office is on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Wendat and the Haudenosaunee. Toronto (also known as Tkaronto) is home to First Nations, Métis and the Inuit peoples from across Turtle Island. The territory in which the festival takes place, and the heart of what we do, is located on the traditional lands of the Treaty 7 Territory, comprised of the the Stoney Nakoda Nations of Wesley, Chiniki, and Bearspaw; three Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy: the Pikani, Kainai, and Siksika; and the Tsuu T’ina of the Dene people. Treaty 7 territory is also shared with the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. This area was also used by the Ktunaxa and the Maskwacis people. BANFF strives for a respectful partnership with all these peoples – past, present and future – on the path to healing and reconciliation.

As a world-renowned event highlighting industry innovation, BANFF has truly embraced the many challenges of this uncertain time.

Randy Lennox, Chair of the Banff Television Festival Foundation Board of Directors

Telefilm Canada is proud to continue our support of the Banff World Media Festival, especially now as we all navigate these new, extraordinary circumstances that we find ourselves experiencing.

Christa Dickenson, Executive Director, Telefilm Canada

The Canada Media Fund has since its creation, 10 years ago, been a proud supporter of the Banff World Media Festival. With our partners, clients and colleagues, all of you in the industry, we’ve created new worlds, discovered new dimensions and challenged norms.

Valerie Creighton, President & CEO, CMF

BANFF provides an incredible opportunity to connect as a community, celebrate successes, and focus on the future. We’re proud to be part of the conversation.

Doug Murphy, President & CEO, Corus Entertainment

Congratulations to the Festival organizers, who have really stepped up to the plate in these extraordinary times to deliver once again an exceptional conference.

The Honourable Leela Aheer, Alberta’s Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism, and Status of Women

During this time of challenge and change for the entire cultural and media sector, connecting through the Festival is more important than ever… we champion Canadian creators in sharing their voices and perspectives in innovative new ways.

Catherine Tait, President & CEO, CBC/Radio-Canada

New voices from diverse communities are critical to the future of Canadian storytelling. Netflix is proud to support the development of these up and coming artists with BANFF and our incredible partners on the Diversity of Voices Initiative.

Lisa Hamilton Daly, Director of Original Series, Netflix
