Simcha Jacobovici is a documentary film director and producer. Among Jacobovici’s many awards are an unprecedented three US Emmys for "Outstanding Investigative Journalism." He is also an internationally acclaimed journalist and a New York Times bestselling author. Jacobovici has produced non-scripted programming for practically every major broadcaster in the world. For three seasons, he hosted “The Naked Archaeologist” on the History Channel worldwide. Jacobovici has also co-produced three feature documentaries with James Cameron and is currently working on a fourth to be released in 2022.

Jacobovici has just completed the series “Enslaved: The Lost History of the Transatlantic Slave Trade” (CBC, Epix, BBC2, Fremantle) hosted and co-produced by Hollywood icon Samuel L. Jackson. The 6-part non-scripted series began airing in October, 2020 in over 140 countries to rave reviews and record breaking ratings. “Enslaved” tracks the efforts of world class divers as they search for and find six sunken slave ships. These efforts act as springboards for the larger story of the transatlantic trafficking. “Enslaved” is now picking up numerous international awards; it was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards and just won three Canadian Screen Awards, including “Best History Documentary Program or Series”. “Enslaved” is now being screened in the United Nations and the European Parliament as part of their anti-racism campaign.

In 2017, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television awarded Simcha the Gordon Sinclair Award, Canada's highest achievement in Broadcast Journalism.
