Elaine Chin

Senior Vice President, Scripted TV/Film

Stage 13

Elaine Chin is a respected entertainment creative executive who has developed franchises and launched feature and TV series across the United States, China and in Asian markets. She is the Senior Vice President, Scripted Content of Stage 13, the award-winning studio brand that is a part of Warner Bros./Warner Bros. Television Group.

As part of her role, she oversees the development and production of the scripted horror anthology franchise “Two Sentence Horror Stories,” now in its third season for The CW Network; season two of the Netflix comedy “Special,” created by Ryan O’Connell; and the Sundance and SXSW critical darling, and HBO Max horror comedy feature “Snatchers.”

She most recently served as VP Production-China at Walt Disney Studios. While at Disney, Chin executed the launch of the studio’s local language production initiative for the China market and, produced the Mandarin-language remake of Touchstone Pictures’ While You Were Sleeping. Previously, she was president of production for Justin Lin’s Barnstorm Pictures, under its first-look deal with Universal Pictures. Together, they co-founded YOMYOMF, an Asian pop culture blog and online digital production company that became one of the first YouTube Original channels funded by Google.

Chin also served as production executive at 20th Century Fox and HBO. While at HBO, she worked on films and miniseries including Elephant (2003 Palme d’Or and Best Director), Mongol (2008 Oscar nominee) and award-winning titles that include Warm Springs, The Gathering Storm, Live From Baghdad and Angels in America.
 

Before her stint at HBO, Chin worked as a development executive with British producers Damian Jones and Graham Broadbent and began her career at the William Morris Agency.

The studio’s original, award-winning content includes six EMMY nominations, and series that are found on multiple platforms including Netflix, HBO/HBO Max, CW/CW Seed, and Facebook Watch.
