Solange Attwood is EVP of Blue Ant Media’s global distribution group, Blue Ant International. In this role, Solange oversees the strategic direction and operation of the business, while also spearheading and managing co-productions, pre-sales and worldwide sales activities. Headquartered in Toronto, with hubs in New York (US) and London (UK), Blue Ant International’s diverse catalogue offers over 4,000 hours of content that includes Specialist Factual, Factual Entertainment, High Impact Documentary, Kids & Family, Scripted and one of the largest 4K natural history offerings globally.
Since launching the division in 2014, Attwood has grown Blue Ant International into a leading global distributor of high-quality content that engages audiences worldwide, across multiple platforms. The company continues to adapt to global market trends by expanding its support to producers with a wide range of financing structures that include commissioning, co-productions, pre-sales and gap financing as well as first look and development deals.
Attwood’s former roles include Vice President at Si Entertainment where she headed up development and launch of the company’s distribution arm. Prior to that, she was Manager, International Sales and Acquisitions at Tricon Films & Television. Attwood is on the Board of Directors of The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television and also serves on the Board of the Canadian Association of Content Exporters. She has participated as a juror in industry awards events including Realscreen Content Awards and the TBI Content Innovation Awards. Additionally, she has sat on Realscreen Summit’s Advisory Board and contributed to Banff World Media Festival’s Diversity of Voices program. Over the last decade, she has been a featured speaker on dozens of industry panels at Realscreen, MIPCOM, Content London and Banff World Media Festival.
