During a 25 year career, Derren Lawford has helped to launch two UK TV channels, two production divisions and the first Black national radio station in the UK. In 2022 he founded DARE Pictures, a transnational studio dedicated to premium documentaries and dramas with purpose. Outside of DARE, Derren mentors international feature doc filmmakers based in Europe and Africa. He’s also a Trustee for Sheffield DocFest and the Black Cultural Archives.
