As a STARZ Senior Vice President of Original Programming, Kathryn Tyus-Adair, has worked on a wide range of programming for the premium cable audience, including Power, Outlander, Vida, The Spanish Princess, upcoming series The Continental (from the hugely popular John Wick franchise), decadent period piece Dangerous Liaisons, Harlem-based girlfriends dramedy Run the World and music/dance-infused dramedy Blindspotting.
Before STARZ, Kathryn was an executive in TV and film, working with Robert Redford, Halle Berry, Don Cheadle, Curtis Hanson, George Tillman, Jr. and Alan Pakula. At Cheadle’s company, she produced the film St. Vincent starring Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy and Naomi Watts. She was also the company executive for Showtime’s House of Lies and for Sony Pictures Classics’ The Guard, which starred Brendan Gleeson. Her earlier work with Redford included the Steve Zaillian legal drama A Civil Action and Eric Roth and Richard LaGravanese’s adaptation of the bestselling novel The Horse Whisperer. Early television work included project development for Sesame Street producers Children’s Television Workshop and continued with her work on the acclaimed Showtime series Soul Food for writer/director George Tillman’s production company, where she also developed the films Barbershop and Men of Honor. She segued her television efforts to the buyer side, developing broadcast, cable and streaming series for NBCUniversal’s UTV Studios.
