Speaker Sandra Dewey
Sandra Dewey is the newly engaged Chief Operating Officer for Media Res, a television studio and production company that develops, produces and finances premium content for global markets. In the recent announcement of Sandra’s new role, she said “(Media Res) is a dynamic growth business with an attitude and a track record. The company has a report card of success with both material and talent that defies industry trends. In this rapidly changing media landscape, Media Res is poised to flex its strengths and show what it can do, and I can’t wait.” Sandra is charged with strategically guiding Media Res’ expansion across scripted and non-fiction initiatives, both domestically and internationally. She oversees the business and legal affairs, production and HR teams, as well as day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include development of new business models, and formulation of strategic partnerships with new content partners in the US and international markets.
Prior to Media Res, Sandra served as President of Business Operations and Production for Warner Media’s streaming service HBO Max (now “MAX”), as well as the cable networks TNT, TBS and truTV. She oversaw the business affairs and production teams for HBO Max originals, and covered all scripted and unscripted content, features, documentaries, animation, and children’s programming, as well as the business side of WarnerMedia’s linear cable networks, TBS, TNT and truTV.
Sandra is a frequent speaker at conferences and summits,including delivering the Cannes Keynote, C21 Media’s Content London Keynote in 2020, and engagements for BANFF Connect LA, Step Up, Film2Future, and MPTF among others. She has received numerous awards including Multichannel News’ “Wonder Women”, and was recognized by Working Mother Magazine as Turner’s Working Mother of the Year. She has been a participant in many leadership programs including the Betsy Magness Leadership Program, Time Warner Chairman’s Program, and Time Warner’s Breakthrough Leadership Program.
Sandra currently serves as a board of trustee of Premiere Digital, a for-profit production services business. Her past board work includes Chairman of the Board of Governors at Pilgrim School, member of the board of directors at the Banff World Media Festival, and board member of the Conaco (Conan O’Brien)/WarnerMedia Joint Venture. She was selected to join the inaugural NAACP Entertainment Industry Board of Advisors. She has been interviewed on numerous podcasts, including Barry Katz Industry Standard, She Dynasty, and Omega Male, and has enjoyed guest lecturing at both UCLA and USC.
