Aneka Hylton-Donelson

Aneka Hylton-Donelson serves as a Director of Development for National Geographic Channel / Disney, where she does creative development for factual and general entertainment concepts, limited series, formats, specials and assesses talent and cultivates production partnerships for National Geographic linear and the Disney+ platforms.
Most recently she developed the new series, Never Say Never with Jeff Jenkins and 7 Toughest Days on Earth with Dwayne Fields and served as the Executive Producer of The March on Washington: Keepers of the Dream special in partnership with National Geographic Studios and ESPN’s Andscape (formerly The Undefeated), which won the NY Festival TV & Film and Telly Award.
Prior to this role, she led the production efforts in the launch of the Nat Geo Kids YouTube Channel and Nat Geo Kids Block series and served as the Executive Producer and Director of Production. In these two roles, she led teams in developing and producing creative and innovative content about our world. Hylton-Donelson has also written, produced, and post-produced several specials and series for National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild. She has won awards for Nat Geo Kids content like the Kidscreen, Parent’s Choice, Cynopsis Kids Imagination Awards and received an Emmy-nomination as the Executive Producer and Director for the award-winning series, the Nat Geo Kids Block and several original digital series.
Hylton-Donelson is an industry leader and was recognized by Women in Cable and Telecommunications with the prestigious 2023 Touchstones of Leadership Award for being a leader in Communication. She is afounding board member of NOIR-DC, a Business Employee Resource Group at National Geographic, leads and supports DEI efforts and mentorship program initiatives across National Geographic and Disney businesses and serves as a mentor with various Disney programs and her alma mater, Howard University. She advocates for HBCU’s and has been recognized by the DC Chapter of the NAACP with a Living Legends Award. Hylton-Donelson is a passionate champion for multi-cultural programming and diverse representation and is an active executive member of Realscreen and the Television Academy.
Hylton-Donelson is currently pursuing her Master of Business degree from Southern New Hampshire University. She also holds a master’s degree in Directing and Producing for Television and Film from Emerson College, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard University.
