Jolise Beaton is the Director of Original Content for Audible Canada. A New York transplant, Jolise works with production partners and talent across English and French content, focusing on the development of unscripted and scripted audio storytelling.
Since joining Audible Canada in 2018, Jolise has acquired content across multiple genres and formats including podcasts, audiobooks, crime/thrillers, documentary, comedy, and self-development. Over the last four years, she spearheaded the launch of a slate of Canadian Audible Originals featuring bestselling and beloved writers and talent including Brendan Fraser, Sandra Oh, Catherine O’Hara, Sidney Crosby, Joshua Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Robert J. Sawyer, Andrew Pyper, Antoni Porowski, Tanya Talaga, Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, and Pier-Luc Funk.
Prior to joining Audible, Jolise worked at House of Anansi Press and Groundwood Books in Toronto where she oversaw licensing, foreign rights and international sales of an award-winning adult and children’s list in over 35 territories globally. She holds an MA in Information Studies from University College London and a BA from the University of Toronto.
