Originally from Southampton, England, Sanj dreamt of working in film since he was a boy. After graduating a three-year course in Digital Film Production & Screenwriting in England, he moved across the pond to Toronto to travel and explore. Little did he know he’d fall in love with Canada and migrate here for good.
Sanj got his foot in the door of the industry by assisting on commercial production sets, meeting various creatives, and building relationships. From there he interned at Stephanie Gorin Casting learning the casting process as an assistant. To gain knowledge and a more comprehensive understanding of the Canadian film industry, Sanj studied Business in Canadian Television and Film at Centennial College. Upon graduation, Sanj joined the team at Jigsaw Casting, where he ran sessions, led the assistants, and helped with scheduling.
Sanj knew casting was where he wanted to be, but his passion for the literary side of the industry still burned hot. Sanj joined Ambition in 2022 to help build and maintain the literary department alongside David, working with the writers and directors, learning how literary deals are negotiated, and developing valuable relationships in the industry.
