Lisa Clarkson leads the Business & Rights team for Canada’s public broadcaster, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). She is responsible for business deals for all types of English-language content (whether acquired; produced by CBC or licenced) across all platforms.
Lisa sits on both CBC’s Environmental Governance Council and CBC’s Sustainability committee (which created CBC’s environmental strategy “Greening Our Story”), and is the founder and chair of CBC’s Environmental Influencers team. She sits on the Canadian National Advisory group for “Reel Green” - a Canadian organization which inspires and supports productions to implement sustainable production practices, and created “One Stop Business Workshop”, a series of business & financing sessions for creators from underrepresented groups in the Canadian media industry including “Green Production - How do I get Started?” and “Green Week”.
She was a panellist on “Green Strategies of Broadcasters” at the 2021 Deauville Green Awards (France) and on “Reel Green - Coast to Coast” at the 2021 Sustainable Production Forum, and sits on the UN’s committee for Entertainment and Net Zero Emissions (ENZA). Lisa has served on the boards of directors of many not-for -profit organizations including the boards of both Women in Film & Television Toronto and Women in Film & Television International, and has been a speaker at conferences and on panels on business issues inside and outside of Canada.
