Sophie Ferron founded award-winning Format distribution/production company Media Ranch in 2008. With offices in Montreal, Amsterdam and Warsaw, the company creates, executive produces and internationally distributes original and proven television formats, including DR (Danish TV) formats. Media Ranch is represented by ICM Partners (U.S.), was named “distributor to watch” (K7 2020), and won a Rose d’Or Award (2015).
In 2019, Media Ranch launched format incubator Horsepower, with a third edition in 2021, in association with Quebecor Content, TF1 and La Fabrique des Formats. Horsepower has successfully generated new paper formats, commissioned in global territories.
A 2nd generation tv producer, Sophie began at Ferron International in 1987; then Production Director (Radiomutuel/Astra); VP Distribution (Technicolor), and COO (broadcaster TQS). She is a FRAPA member; speaker at global events -- Realscreen Summit 2021, C21 Formats 2020 Master Class; Primetime Canada 2019, and sits on the Award juries of the Rose d’Or and MIPFormats.
