Victoria Valius

Victoria Valius is the Head of Integrated Brand Strategy and Content Marketing at Sony Pictures Television and Home Entertainment in Canada. As part of this cross-divisional role at the SONY studio, she is responsible for leading the planning and execution release strategy for the physical, new media and television distribution businesses in English & French Canada.
In 2011, Sony Pictures Television (SPT) opened an office in Canada and hired Victoria to launch the marketing department, based in Toronto. In this role, she built the foundation of SPT’s ‘best-in-class’ marketing and publicity servicing support and worked alongside Canada’s biggest broadcasters and new media companies including Bell Media, Corus Entertainment, Rogers Media, Quebecor, Amazon and Netflix. During her tenure at SPT, she has developed and executed communication strategies, social and digital media campaigns for some of the world’s most recognizable franchises such as Spider-Man, Jumanji, Ghostbusters, Men In Black, including tv content such as Breaking Bad, Outlander, The Good Doctor, The Blacklist, The Dr. Oz Show and The Young and the Restless. In addition, she served as the SPT representative at the ONE SONY cross-divisional strategy meetings collaborating with other SONY entities; SONY PlayStation, SONY Music, SONY Mobile and SONY Consumer Products & Electronics. In 2018, Sony Pictures appointed Victoria to head up the direct-to-consumer home entertainment marketing arm in Canada, as well as the television distribution marketing team.
Prior to Sony Pictures, Victoria held executive positions as Global Marketing Director at an international company in Florence, Italy and Vice President of Distribution at a UK-based content distribution company. During her eleven years in Europe, she worked with independent producers to market and license content in Europe and was the on-the-ground resource to numerous Canadian producers.
Victoria started her media career in international television distribution at CHUM Television where she was an integral part of the team which travelled the world licensing CHUM’s original Canadian content and local tv station brands MuchMusic and Citytv.
Victoria is currently a content advisory board member of the Banff World Media Festival and an alumnus of McGill University where she Graduated, having completed a four-year degree in Economics.
