When YouTube Premium set out to break into the highly competitive scripted-series game, it didn’t mess around. It jumped into a bidding war to secure Cobra Kai, the “30 years later” story of Karate Kid characters Daniel and Johnny, played by Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Join Macchio, as well as creators Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg and YouTube Originals’ head of comedy development, Dustin Davis, as they discuss reopening the Cobra Kai dojo, delicately handling a beloved 80s classic and why they think this 30-minute dramedy will put YouTube Premium’s name on the scripted-series map.
