Larry Shuman is founder of The Shuman Company, an entertainment management/production firm specializing in the development of television & film writers since 1991. His many long-time clients have gone on to become some of the highest-level writers in the industry, including Shawn Ryan, creator of The Shield;David Shore, creator of House; Tim Minear, Showrunner of F/X's American Horror Story;Baldwin & Coveny, creators of Longmire, and Carl Ellsworth, writer of the DreamWorks featuresDisturbia and Red Eye.
The Shuman Company also has a production arm, which in recent years has had pod deals at Fox Television Studios and ABC Studios. They produced Marc Cherry's series, Devious Maids,for Lifetime, as well as the 2015 feature film Concussion, starring Will Smith.
Larry is also actively involved in the theater, and serves on the board of The Lark, an NYC-based non-profit play development center that provides a resource for young playwrights to nurture and develop their talents and voices.
Larry began his career in the mailroom at Marble Arch Productions (On Golden Pond, Sophie's Choice), moved on to do Business Development for Indian Neck Productions, and ultimately segued into the personal management business, working with Carlyle Management and then Elsboy Entertainment (now 3 Arts) before founding The Shuman Company.
