Christian Drobnyk was named Senior Vice President, Programming Strategy and Acquisitions, of Lifetime Networks, in August 2011. Based in New York, he is responsible for overseeing all program acquisitions, co-productions and program planning for Lifetime & LMN. This includes developing and commissioning over 50 hours a year of Lifetime’s original movie output and sourcing scripted co-production opportunities for Lifetime.
Prior to joining Lifetime, Drobnyk was General Manager & Controller of UKTV Networks in London, where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of UKTV’s 10-channel portfolio in London.
From 2006 to 2008, Drobnyk was Senior Vice President, Programming and Development, for TLC and Discovery Home Channel in the U.S. In this role, he was responsible for all development, scheduling and acquisitions.
Drobnyk began his career in television as Manager of Programming for TLC in 1999 before being named Director of Programming for Travel Channel and, subsequently, Vice President, Programming and Acquisitions, for TLC.
A member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Royal Television Society, Drobnyk earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Hamilton College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. His academic honors also include Phi Beta Kappa.
