Sean Cohan is Executive Vice President, International for A+E Networks.
Mr. Cohan oversees A+E Networks’ International division, managing the company’s brands, content, and services outside the U.S. He manages staff in New York, London, Rome and Singapore, and venture teams across 20 more cities. The division’s activities include branded channels, content sales and digital media distribution.
Today, A+E Networks operates 62 branded international channels and distributes an 11,000-hour library across more than 160 territories, in 39 languages and a range of platforms.
In the past year, A+E Networks has completed deals to achieve full ownership of operations in Southeast Asia and Italy, launched its first channels in France and Russia, and debuted A&E, Lifetime and H2 in Europe and Asia Pacific.
Since 2006, A+E Networks has launched 38 channel feeds, delivered content to over 350 broadcasters and forged 80+ digital partnerships. During Mr. Cohan’s tenure the company has also developed a top factual content sales and formats organization; launched a successful movie distribution effort; and achieved firsts in broadband, mobile, HD and 3D.
Mr. Cohan was formerly Senior Vice President, International; Vice President, Business Development & Digital Media; and Director, International Business Development for A+E Networks. Previously, Mr. Cohan held positions at Primedia, Morgan Stanley, NBC and A.T. Kearney.
Mr. Cohan has been recognized as part of TelevisionWeek’s Hot List, Multichannel News’ 40 Under 40, NAMIC Luminary, CableFax’s Most Influential Minorities in Cable, and Digital TV Europe’s Euro 50.
A graduate of Harvard University, Mr. Cohan holds an MBA from Stanford University.
