A well respected veteran in the television industry, Rebecca Segal has worked extensively in the acquisition and marketing of U.S. programming, both through the development stage and on air.

She has successfully identified programming trends, provided market intelligence, and maintained relationships with U.S. networks (network and cable), studios, as well as independent production companies, effectively guiding her international employers into a track record of successful acquisitions, pre-sales and co-productions. Based in Los Angeles, she has set up and run offices for some of the leading networks in the world. 

As Senior Vice President for British Sky's Broadcasting Sky Networks, the U.K.'s leading multi-channel operator, she established their Los Angeles office in 1994 to oversee programme acquisition and co-production from the U.S. She has worked across all Sky channels including Sky1HD, 2 & 3, Sky Real Lives, Sky Movies, Sky Arts, as well as their new platforms. 

Her range of experience has spanned a broad spectrum of television programming from Sky1 co-productions and pre-sales such as "Battlestar Galactica" and "Caprica" with NBC Universal and SyFy channel; "Stargate: Universe" with MGM and SyFy; "The 4400" with Paramount and USA Network to successful and image making acquired series including "Bones," "Modern Family," "Lost," "24," "House," "Fringe," "The Simpsons," "Lie To Me," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Project Runway," "Prison Break," "Eureka," "Weeds," "Deadwood," "Rescue Me" and the "Stargate" and "Star Trek" franchises. 

She is an Officer of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of The British Academy of Film & Television Los Angeles (BAFTA/LA) and is in her fifth term as a Board member of the non profit Academy. She has played an active role in the Academy Co-Chairing three Britannia Awards (BAFTAA/LA's black tie event honoring major stars talent from the U.K. and the U.S.), she co-created the Television Committee and started the TV Tea Party, honoring Emmy nominees and UK talent working in the U.S., an event which has now become a "must attend," during the lead up to the Awards. 


She served on the 2010 BritWeek Committee and helped produce the television panels for the BritWeek/Variety TV and Film Summitt in April, 2010. From 2005 to 2008 she was on the Board of Directors of Natpe and is an Alternate Board Member of the International Television Academy. Ms. Segal is a member of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Hollywood Radio and Television Society, Women in Film and is a Founding Member of EPPS (Entertainment Publicists Professional Society). She has been a guest lecturer at UCLA and the RTS, as well as other industry panels, talking about international television programming.
