BBC's Children's Head of Content

BBC Children's

 Cheryl is the Controller of CBBC and is responsible for an annual 4,000 hours of programming for 6-12s. She commissions all CBBC content for television and online - including factual, drama, comedy, entertainment, news, games and apps. CBBC continues to be the most popular channel for its age group in the U.K.

Recent animation commissions include Dangermouse, Scream Street, Bottersnikes and Gumbles Zig and Zag, Little Roy and all new Dennis The Menace. Acquisitions include The Deep, The Next Step and Nowhere Boys.

CBBC is reknowned for its homegrown drama slate including The Worst Witch, Millie Inbetween, Hank Zipzer, So Awkward and Hetty Feather. CBBC puts audience participation at the heart of its public service content and Blue Peter, Got What it Takes, Ultimate Brain, Dog Ate My Homework, Class Dismissed and Our School are entertaining and inclusive in equal measure. CBBC boasts a strong factual offering spear-headed by the award winning My Life series. Pioneering dramas Dixi and Secret Life have won an impressive interactive following as well as several industry awards.

Cheryl was also Head of Comedy for the BBC and commissioned Mrs Browns Boys, Cuckoo and Bad Education.  As Head of Comedy at Hat Trick Productions she co- created Drop Dead Gorgeous and at Channel 4 was responsible for Spaced, Black Books and The World of Derren Brown.
